Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) at Vardhan Fertility Centre

Advanced Genetic Screening for Healthier Embryos and Higher IVF Success

At Vardhan Fertility Centre, we offer Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) to help intended parents reduce the risk of genetic disorders and increase IVF success rates. By analyzing embryos before implantation, PGT ensures that only the healthiest and chromosomally normal embryos are selected for transfer—improving pregnancy outcomes and reducing miscarriage rates.

PGT is a specialized technique that involves screening embryos created via IVF for genetic abnormalities before they are transferred into the uterus. This allows us to identify embryos with the correct number of chromosomes or those free of inherited genetic conditions.

There are three main types of PGT:

  • PGT-A (Aneuploidy): Screens for chromosomal abnormalities like Down syndrome
  • PGT-M (Monogenic): Screens for inherited single-gene disorders like thalassemia or cystic fibrosis
  • PGT-SR (Structural Rearrangements): For patients with balanced translocations or chromosomal rearrangements
  • Couples with a history of genetic diseases
  • Women over 35 years of age
  • Recurrent IVF failures or miscarriages
  • Male partners with abnormal sperm DNA
  • Carriers of inherited conditions (like thalassemia, sickle cell, etc.)
  • IVF Cycle & Embryo Creation – Eggs and sperm are used to create embryos
  • Embryo Biopsy – A few cells are carefully removed from the blastocyst (Day 5 embryo)
  • Genetic Analysis – DNA of the embryo is tested in the lab
  • Embryo Selection – Only genetically normal embryos are selected for transfer
  • Embryo Transfer – Done in a frozen cycle for optimal uterine receptivity
  • Expertise in PGT-A, PGT-M, and PGT-SR
  • State-of-the-art IVF lab with advanced embryo biopsy tools
  • Collaboration with certified genetic testing labs
  • Improved implantation and live birth rates
  • Lower chances of genetic disease and pregnancy loss
