NT Scan (Nuchal Translucency Scan) at Vardhan Fertility Centre

Early Risk Detection for a Healthier Pregnancy

The NT Scan, or Nuchal Translucency Scan, is a vital ultrasound performed during the first trimester of pregnancy to assess the baby’s risk of chromosomal abnormalities such as Down syndrome (Trisomy 21) and other genetic conditions. At Vardhan Fertility Centre, we offer accurate NT scans combined with early pregnancy screening to give expecting parents clarity, confidence, and peace of mind.

An NT Scan is a non-invasive ultrasound performed between 11 to 13 weeks + 6 days of pregnancy, measuring the fluid-filled space at the back of the baby’s neck (nuchal translucency). Increased thickness in this area can be a soft marker for certain chromosomal abnormalities.

  • Nuchal translucency thickness
  • Nasal bone development
  • Fetal heart rate and anatomy
  • Placenta location and amniotic fluid
  • Early detection of structural abnormalities

It is often combined with a dual marker blood test to increase screening accuracy.
