Laparoscopic Salpingectomy (Bilateral)

Salpingectomy surgery is using either open abdominal surgery or laparoscopy. We will take your personal health history, age, and future fertility plans into consideration when determining which procedure is right for you. The ampullary tubal ectopic pregnancies were managed using laparoscopic linear salpingostomy. Salpingectomy is commonly done as part of a procedure called a salpingo-oophorectomy, where one or both ovaries, as well as one or both Fallopian tubes,  are removed in one operation. Bilateral Salpingo-Oophorectomy (BSO) is used if both ovaries and Fallopian tubes are removed. An incision was made on the antimesenteric side of the fallopian tube, over the point of a maximum bulge, with unipolar electrocautery. Ovary together with the Fallopian tube is called salpingo-oophorectomy or unilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (USO). When both ovaries and both Fallopian tubes are removed, the term bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (BSO) is used. Laparoscopy procedure requires an incision deep within the vagina, through which the uterus and related organs are removed.
