Laparoscopic Hysterectomy + Salpingo Opherectomy

The laparoscopic hysterectomy is a surgery to remove the uterus through the vagina. The uterus is the muscular organ at the top of the vagina. Babies develop in the uterus, and menstrual blood comes from the uterus. A bilateral salpingo ophorectomy is a surgery to remove both ovaries and fallopian tubes. The bilateral salpingo ophorectomy is assisted with laparoscopy. The Laparoscope is a thin tube with light and tiny camera. Some of the problems that may be treated with a vaginal hysterectomy are heavy bleeding that has not been controlled by medicine, chronic pelvic pain and sagging uterus. Endometriosis causes pain or bleeding and does not respond to other treatments and it is performed to remove any tumours that may have been in uterus and it stops menstrual periods. After surgery recovery is usually faster from a vaginal hysterectomy than from an abdominal procedure. Patient can leave the hospital sooner in this procedure. The IV and catheter are removed within 1 or 2 days after the surgery.
